Learn about Martelli's two longarm sewing machines

In this blog, we’ll discuss the features of the Martelli longarm sewing machines and how to purchase them.

by Martelli Notions • August 14, 2020

Many quilters have gravitated towards longarm sewing machines in recent years due to the amount of time it saves when sewing quilt layers together. A longarm sewing machine can be for personal use if you quilt frequently or you can purchase one for commercial purposes and rent it out. In this blog, we’ll discuss the features of the Martelli longarm sewing machines and how to purchase them.

Longarm Sewing Machines

At Martelli, we sell two longarm sewing machines, the Bella Sedere and the Bella Prima.

Martelli Bella Sedere

The Martelli Bella Sedere is Martelli’s own longarm sewing machine. It has a lot of the same great features the Martelli workstations, like a remote that controls the table height for ultimate comfort when sitting or standing. Since this machine is height adjustable and doesn’t have anything restricting someone from sitting underneath it, the machine is perfect for those in a wheelchair.

The Bella Sedere has a 4x4 work area making it perfect for large projects but small enough that it won’t seem intrusive when placed in a room.

The tabletop and sides are made of ultra-durable, long-lasting materials, and the commercial-grade rubber wheels are guaranteed to withstand all the wear and tear you put them through.

The machine itself has an 11-inch neck and 21-inch throat perfect for when you need that sewing space for bigger projects.

The Bella Sedere has the ability to make 50-3000 stitches per minute and a dual foot pedal so you can control the up-down motion of your needle.

A major frustration for quilters is a tangled or broken thread when sewing. Martelli has solved this problem with their Kwik-Spin Thread Dispenser that’s built into the Bella Sedere. It was created to feed the thread so it doesn’t tangle, pull, or break.

Benefits

  • Doesn’t take up too much space
  • Projects get done faster
  • Adjustable height
  • Have the ability to sit or stand while using it
  • Customizable per minute stitch count

Martelli Bella Prima

The Martelli Bella Prima is the King of sewing machines. From its design to its features no detail was left out.

This is a sewing machine built to last. The panels are made from high-density material to withstand years of wear and tear. The side panels and overhead rail provide the suspension for the patented quick-release, spring-loaded poles for fabric source and uptake rollers.

A unique feature of this longarm sewing machine is in the legs. They contain remote-controlled leg lifts that allow you to adjust the machine to your desired height. Perfect for those who prefer to stand, sit, or are in a wheelchair.

The suspension is a notable part of this machine. Since it is placed on top, the machine can be placed flush against a wall. Also due to the suspension being on top, the underside of the machine is open. This allows the user to sit under the table and get a closeup view of their project. Cleaning is easy too, as you will never have to get under the table to dust or wipe down your machine.

Another great feature of the overhead rail system is the lightweight aluminum rods. They will never corrode due to their powder-coated finish.

Similar to the Bella Sedere, the Bella Prima has a dual foot pedal to control the up-down needle motions, the ability to make 50-3000 stitches a minute, an 11-inch neck, 21-inch throat, and a Martelli Kwik-Spin Thread Dispenser built into the machine.

  • Machine length is customizable

  • Projects get done faster
  • Adjustable height
  • Have the ability to sit or stand while using it
  • Customizable per minute stitch count
