Crazy Compass

Dear Marsha:

For the past three years, I have used the Martelli Rotary Cutter and am so happy to have such a wonderful piece of equipment.  I have used both of the cutters—the 45mm and the 60mm. The cutter is superb and has a wonderful ergonomic design that allows my arthritic hands to cut with ease and without pain.

I have given this product to my mother who is in her eighties, still loves to quilt, and she too has arthritis. Mom raves about this rotary cutter. I highly recommend this excellent product to all of my sewing sisters and brothers.

Sincerely,

Diane Bourlier, DO

P.S. Enclosed is a picture of me holding a pup sled dog in Alaska and a picture of my Crazy Compass quilt.

'YES, YES, YES'

Hello,

I wanted to write to tell you how impressed I have been with your products.  I have had the Stitch in the Ditch set for about a year and I have used it many, many times.  I am a professional quilter, so I often need to put a binding on quilts for customer.  I have had so many complements on the fact that the front of the quilt binding does not have a line of stitching. Yes, there was a small learning curve, but the results are well worth the time I invested.

Also, I just had carpal tunnel surgery.  The orthopedist said it was an occupational hazard.  When I got out my [another brand cutter] I soon realized that it had been part of the source of my pain.  NOT cutting is NOT an option for me, so I started looking for some other way.  My husband even tried to invent something!

However, I came across the Martelli Ergonomic Cutter at a store and tried it.  YES! YES! YES!   Please give a big kiss and hug to whoever invented that wonderful cutter!!!  No pain--the way the wrist stays in a neutral position is perfect, just perfect!

Thanks, and thanks again!

'I Am Right'

Dear Martelli:

Thank you!

I just received my 60mm rotary cutter, and you again have lived up to expectations with service 'above and beyond'!

Now I can get back to my quilting. I recommend your cutters, and also commend your wonderful service.

I am right.

Yours truly,

Pat Schershel

'Huge Fan'

Greetings:

Thanks for replying so quickly. I'm such a huge fan of your products. Your rotary cutter has to be my favorite. It's safe and really comfortable to use.

I am also a member of our local guild, and I'm securing vendors for our 2011 Quilt Show: Symphony of Color. We are really excited about the 2011 show, and look forward to having Martelli Enterprises there.

Cheers, Sam

'Party of One'

Good Morning!

Your package arrived yesterday full of all of those "goodies" that I can hardly wait to put to use.

I love your cutting mats, but I didn't know until I attended the quilt show how to use it.  Cutting from the side instead of right in front of you certainly makes a big difference. The [Get-A-Grip Pads] are great too.

I will spend all day, again today, in my sewing room enjoying your products.  You are a great company to work with, way beyond expectations, and I am a party of one advertising for you.

Sincerely,

Carol Bartlett

'Best Rotary Cutter Ever'

Hello,

Thank you for the best rotary cutter ever! I am also a great fan of the binding system.

Thank you for your time, information, and great customer service.

Sincerely,

Raye Gregor

'What Wonderful Things You Have Created'

Dear Mrs. Martelli:

I purchased your cutter, mat and long ruler at the show in New Hampshire recently. Before attending, I had given myself a little talk about being more open to new products and things that would make it easier for me to quilt. So when I saw the demo about the cutter I thought that would be right for me, as I am in a wheelchair and have diminished strength in my arms due to multiple sclerosis.

When I got the cutter, mat and ruler home, I almost had a moment of buyer's remorse, wondering about my investment in these tools.

The next morning I tried the cutter first thing. Then I tried cutting and using the mat as my ruler, still unsure. Then I got brave and started cutting finished blocks-even four at a time!

Wow, this is so easy and wonderful. I am in control of my cutting again! And the round mat! Well, what wonderful things you have created. Maybe I should have bought the right handed cutter as well, as I am ambidextrous.

Thanks so much for your products. My arms held up and don't hurt and I don't have to use as much pressure. Already I love, love, love my new cutter and mat.

'Boy Aren't They Fun!'

Martelli Staff:

Thanks for being so thoughtful. Your kindness is appreciated.

You did not need to send the extra goodies, but boy aren't they fun. I love your products.

Thanks again for the great service,

Joyce Sharp

'Not A Problem'

Martelli Enterprises

Attention: Customer Service

On March 28, 2010, Pat Waldroop, Owner of Words-n-Stiches in Cumming, Georgia, called your office, and stated that while at the Quilters Expo in Atlanta she had purchased a rotary cutter. However, the cutter that was brought home was a right-handed model, and what was needed was a left-handed model. Your customer service representative graciously stated, "Not a problem," and placed in the mail that very day a left-handed cutter as a replacement. Enclosed you will find the right-handed cutter that we received at the Expo.

We at Words-n-Stitches want to thank you for your quick response in getting the replacement to us. You have definitely won a new customer and we will look forward to ordering/purchasing additional equipment from you.

Thanks again for your excellent customer service and products.

Kind Words From an Old Friend

'So Happy About My Cutting'

Dear Mrs. Martelli:

I have been cutting more in the last few days than what I have done in a whole year.  Just yesterday I cut 36 blocks to size, borders for 2 quilts, and binding! Plus, I helped my friend who also purchased your kit get started using it.

I sew every day, and I make quilts for family and friends, plus lap quilts and cuddle quilts for our local guild's community projects.
It really was worth it--I have been feeling so happy about my cutting. I have to ask my husband for so many things and I always felt a little guilty asking him to do my cutting.  He is so wonderful and does so cheerfully, but it is something I am in control of again, and now can do whenever I want, instead of waiting.
I am so blessed to have a loving and patient husband. With him and a stack of fabric, sewing machines, and now my cutter and mat, I do not need anything. But I do want a Martelli Lacresta longarm some day.

Your letter made me feel like you are friends who care, and not just a business.

Thanks,

Cathy Sprague

Relay-for-Life Quilt by Angela Trenar

Relay for Life is a non-profit organization that raises money for the American Cancer Society.  The group hosts events to raise money for research for a cancer cure.   You may have even participated in Relay for life through a group or organization that you know. Each Relay for Life team raises money for cancer patients to help with medical bills, transportation to treatment sessions, food and lodging, and other expenses.

This past year Angela’s brother, Charlie Gusler, age 23, was diagnosed with Embryonal Cell Testicular Cancer and the team has helped with his treatment expenses.  As noted above, Charlie’s cancer is now is remission.

When Angela learned that the group’s annual fundraising event would include a silent auction, she offered to make a quilt, in honor of her brother’s remission, to donate to the auction.

The quilt was 94” x 85”, large enough for a King Size bed.  The front of the quilt was constructed from Relay For Life t-shirts from previous events. On the back of the quilt, Angela used the Martelli’s quarter-round template for the Drunkard's Path design, to illustrate the commemorative cancer ribbon, called the “Ribbon of Hope & Love.”

We think is a great idea, and an innovative use of this particular template, that really comes close to the look of a ribbon.  Perhaps some of you will incorporate it into your own designs.  If so, we would like to see it.

Thanks for sharing your story Angela.
